Xan M. Schermerhorn

When someone you love becomes a memory, the becomes a treasure. Our hearts were broken with the sudden and unexpected loss of our loving wife, mom, grandma, sister and friend.Xan M. Schermerhorn, 46, of West Creek Rd., Berkshire on Sunday, September 23, 2012. Xan is survived by her husband Arthur L. Schermerhorn, children: Dustin White, Edward White, Angelina Ward; grandchildren: Trinity, Nevaeh, Isabell, Anthony and Elijah; siblings: Fred Ward, Art (Lynn) Ward, Roland, Jr. (Laurie) Ward, Harlan (Iva) Ward, Pat Williams, Kathy (Wayne) Knapp, Charlotte (Carl) Cornell; her father-in-law Roland Schermerhorn, several brother-in-law and sister-in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins also survive. Xan was born on June 7, 1966 in Cortland, NY a daughter of the late Ona and Roland Ward, Sr. She was currently employed as a Lab Technician for Dairy One in Ithaca. Xan enjoyed reading, tending to her flower gardens, spending time with her family at bonfires, picnics and being with friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Thursday, September 27th from 6 to 8 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley.
