William R. Duran

William R. Duran, of Owego, was reunited with his loving wife Judy on February 17 2019. He is survived by his daughter Debra (Tim) Stoughton, brother James (Denise) Duran, sister Beverly (Ronald) Nestrick, son-in-law John VanVorce, sisters-in-law Barbara Duran and Kate Duran, nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. William was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Dorothy Duran, his daughter Teresa VanVorce and his brothers Richard and Joseph Jr. William was a faithful employee of the P & C in Owego and a number of other small towns around New York state, for over 35 years. William enjoyed bowling, playing cards and shooting pool. He was an extremely talented pistol marksmen and was a member of the Owego Rod and Gun Club. But his favorite sport and passion was golf in which he one time went so far as to place 2nd in the New York State BC Amateur Open. He enjoyed experiencing all life had to offer and lived each day to the fullest. A period of visitation will be held at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, on Saturday, February 23rd from 11 to 1 pm with a celebration of his life immediately following.
