Vera J. BenjaminFormerly of Newark ValleyVera Benjamin, 74, passed away peacefull on Sat. Dec. 5, 2009 at Elderwood Health Care at Tioga where she has resided for the past several years. Aunt Vera is survived by her beloved nephews; Michael Cornelius, Mitchell (Tammy) Cornelius and Gregory (Renee) Cornelius. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Raymond (Beverly) Benjamin, Paul (Shirley) Benjamin, Helen (Roy) Bertram, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.Vera was born in Vestal Center, NY on June 8, 1935 one of 13 children born to Fred and Grace (Carman) Benjamin. Her brothers and sisters, Arthur, Walter, Earl, Harrison, June, Marian, Ester and Florence also preceded her in death.Vera retired from Endicott-Johnson following 30 years of dedicated service. She was hard working and fiesty and was also a very loving and caring woman with a heart of gold. She enjoyed flower gardening and photography.A celebration of her life will be held at 2 PM on Wed. at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley. Rev. James Sweeney will officiate.
