Riechers Of Newark ValleyLOVE -- Bears all things -- Believes all things -- Hopes all things -- Endures all things -LOVE NEVER FAILSOur wonderful, wonderful kind and loving Tommy passed away suddenly in his sleep early Sunday morning, September 20, 2009, at the age of 40. Missing him so very much is his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 18 years, Wendy Kozak Riechers and his two adored children, Joshua and Eleni Riechers; his loving parents, Brian and Irene (Sikorski) Riechers; and sisters, Bonnie (Karl) Geisenhof and Bobbie Brissette; also, loving paternal grandparents, Robert and Jane Riechers; his aunts and uncles, Barbara and Dan Wilcox, John Sikorski, Joe and Carol Sikorski, Helen and Howard Walter; his mother-in-law, Renee Kozak; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, William Kozak, John (Jay) Kozak III, Tammy Kozak, Catherine (Katie) Kozak; his Godchild, Lily Grace; Wendy's grandmother, Catherine Kovacik; nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends including his very special family friends, Shari and Michael Jackson, Jon and Denise Maule, Joel and Kelli Newton. Tom was born on December 8, 1968 in Johnson City and from a very young age he managed to capture everyones heart with his beautiful smile and infectious laugh. While in high school, Tom was a member of the football team and Captain of the 1987, undefeated (11-0), Section 4, State Championship team. Following graduation in 1987 he played semi-pro with the BC JETS. Wendy and Tom were united in marriage on May 25, 1991. He was a dedicated and respected Job Superintendent for the Rotella Corp. in Endicott. Tom was a devout Christian, always placed his trust in the Lord and readily shared his faith. He attended the Union Center Christian Church. Tom had many hobbies including NASCAR Racing, snowmobiling and hunting and he was also a master wood craftsman. Above all, Tom was the best of the best to Wendy, Eleni and Josh. For Eleni, he was an all around dance dad at Full of Grace Dance Studio where he freely gave of his talents with so many projects and endeared everyone there with his charm and sense of humor. For Josh, he spent hour after hour building and repairing his microds with him and attending the So. Tier Microd Club and Little Wheels Track.A celebration of Tom's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley. Pastor Doug Hill will officiate. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. His family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A College Savings Account for his children has been established at NBT Bank, Newark Valley.
