Thomas K. Bowen, 76, formerly of Newark Valley, passed away at his home on March 4, 2015.Tom is survived by his long-time best friend, Carol Furgeson; his children: Cheryl (Dean) Sickles, Janece (Frank) Shultz, Janet (Michael) Twomey, Kathy (Daniel) Bilodeau, John Bowen, Joan Sherman, Craig Bowen, Michele (Todd) Furgeson, Donnie (Kris) Furgeson, John Furgeson; his sisters: Lois Gent, Marjorie (Richard) Keith, Betty (Lawrence) Carmon and brother, Gerald Bowen; 23 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Tom was predeceased by his parents Walter and Clarinda Bowen, son Thomas, brothers: Dick, Bob, Larry and Ronnie Bowen.He was an employee of Asplundh for many years. Tom loved his family! An avid outdoors enthusiast, he enjoyed both hunting and fishing. It was in his blood to eat and visit with his many friends at local diners, and he was over the moon when he was training and driving his harness race horses.Toms family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Monday from 5-7 PM.
