Thomas C. Stowell

Thomas C. Stowell, 72, of Newark Valley, NY and formerly of Homer, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2022 following a brief cardiac illness. Born in Cortland, NY on Oct 3, 1949, he was a son of the late Charles H. and Shirley (Allen) Stowell. Tom is survived by his loving companion of 24 years, Wanda J. Truesdail and her family; his sons: David and Jeremiah Stowell; his sister, Chris Wilson; his early morning coffee Buddies at the Creekside Diner; and his close friends, Stu Yetter and Gary (Chub) Allen, Jr. Tom was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam and a long-time employee of Scott Smith and Son, Owego. He enjoyed outdoor activities especially fishing at 'The Pond and hunting. He will be remembered for his genuine kindness and willingness to always be of help to others and will be greatly missed. To celebrate Toms life, a time of visitation and sharing of memories will be held at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Saturday, April 16, from 2-4 pm.
