Theodore E. Pastalan

Theodore E. Ted Pastalan died on Wednesday Jan 25th, at the age of 88, while at Lourdes Hospital after developing complications from lung cancer treatment. Ted is survived by his wife of 62 years, Cassie [Cyganovich], brother Leon (Alice) Pastalan, and sister Helen Romanowski, his children Greg (Sheryl) Pastalan, John Pastalan, and Elaina (Larry) Sheiman, grandchildren Joey and Kayla Pastalan and nieces Maria Schimer, Manya (Joe) Grant and Becky Pastalan.Ted was a farmer until graduating from Syracuse University and Ithaca College later in life to become a Physical Therapist. Ted was in private practice for 45 years before retiring at age 82. He was a long time devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Church. Ted was a member of Endicott Rotary Club and served as a president for a number of years. He also served as a member and president of the Newark Valley Central School Board. He remained active throughout his life, enjoying his career, noted for his attire suit and tie. He enjoyed working on the family homestead including his expansive lawn, orchards, garden, fields and woods.Calling hours will be held at the MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley on Friday evening, January 27th from 6-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated 10 am, Saturday, at St. John the Evangelist Church, Rock St. Newark Valley.
