Tammy L. Kozak

Our precious daughter and beloved sister, Tammy L. Kozak, 47, formerly of Berkshire, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on February 25, 2020. Tammy fought her lifes battles with grace and faith, her anchor holding firm to the end. She is now free of pain and physical hardships, and her only tears are tears of joy because she sits in her own place at His Table. Tammy will be dearly missed, most especially by her mother, Renee A. (Kovacik) Kozak; brothers, Bill (Jamin) Kozak and John (Stephanie) Kozak; sister, Wendy Riechers; grandmother Catherine Kovacik; nieces and nephews, Eleni and Joshua Riechers; Jordyn and Koa Kozak; Koby, Abby, Charlotte, and Lily Kozak; uncles Tom (Cindy) Kovacik and Alan (Kim) Kovacik; her faithful canine companion, Onyx, who staunchly stood by her; dear friends John and Joan Stoughton; and the Turners Syndrome Society family, including: Robin, Laura, Maureen, Connie, Erica, Emily, Barb, Kathy, and so many more. Tammy is predeceased by her father John Kozak, her grandfather Tom Kovacik, her sister Katie Kozak, and brother-in-law Tom Riechers. Tammy loved the butterfly. Perhaps it was the absolute amazement and joy that comes from watching a butterfly, or the reality that butterflies can transform and rise beyond their horizons. It is the perfect picture of Tammy. She was a bright and shining light in life who fought tenaciously and never gave up. She was also a sweetheart full of love and kindness for all those she encountered. So when thinking of Tammy, think of her as a beautiful butterfly who has spread her wings to fly. Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, NY, on Friday March 6th from 11 - noon, at which time a celebration of her life will be held. Burial will be in the spring at the Evergreen Cemetery in Berkshire. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Turners Syndrome Society or to the family for the continuing care of Onyx.
