Shirley M. Hartman, 81, passed away at her home on Wednesday evening, Dec. 7, 2011.Shirley is survived by her children and their spouses: Cheryl and Ron Masalonis, Gigi and Jim Cavataio, Wendy and Dan Schooley, Lorrie and Ed Schultz and Richard Benjamin. Also surviving are her 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, brother, Pat Herman, sisters: Bette Dewitt and Marie Jenner, several nieces, nephews and her good friend Annette.Born on March 18, 1930 in Rushville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Frances (Zacharias) Herman. She was a member of American Legion Post 1390, Maine, NY and always enjoyed visiting both there and at home where she welcomed company. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, movies and TV shows.A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM on Monday at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley.Rev. Nancy Adams will officiate.
