Shirley L. Cook

Shirley L. Cook, 81, passed away on April 5, 2018 following a brief illness. She is survived by her children: Jean (Tige) Russell, Donna L. Cook and Ray E. Cook; 3 grandchildren: Jody, Joseph and Michael; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Harold (Joyce) Michaletz and Leland (Justine) Michaletz, Jr; several nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Leland and Margaret Michaletz, her husband Edward J. Cook and siblings Laura Wesner and David Michaletz.Shirley loved 'just being home'... doing her word search puzzles, watching General Hospital, taking in stray cats and nurturing them or reading a good book (she was an avid reader) but she also loved shopping at and roaming through WalMart! She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service for Shirley at 11 am, on Monday, April 9 at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley next to her beloved husband Ed.
