Shirley Jean Guiles

Shirley Jean (Hoskins) Guiles, 74, went home to be with God on Jan. 10, 2014.Born on Jan 27, 1939 in Berkshire, she was the daughter of the late Robert, Sr. and Evelyn (Talcott) Hoskins. Shirley is survived by her son and his wife: David and Katherine Guiles and their children, Jacob Lars, Grace Jean and Kate Helen; siblings: Donna Arnold, Judy Smith, Larry, Randy (Melissa), Rusty (Dianne) Hoskins; in-laws: Betty Hoskins, Judy Heeman, Ester Glowa, Dean Gurney, John Wood, Roger Webb; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased byher husband, Raymond C. Guiles; siblings: Gary, Raymond and Robert Hoskins, Jr, Sharon Gurney, Cleo Wood; and extended family: Harold Arnold, Metro Glowa, Elizabeth Webb, John & Lois Guiles.Shirley was a very caring and compassionate woman whose family was her passion. She enjoyed playing shuffle board for years and was renowned for her banana and zucchini breads. Shirley (aka Nannie) was loved dearly and will be greatly missedtill we meet again!Those wishing to remember Shirley with a donation are asked to kindly consider the Parent-Teacher-Student Organization at Nathan T. Hall Elementary School in Newark Valley.Shirleys family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Wednesday, Jan. 15, from 6-9PM and on Thursday one hour prior to the Funeral Service and Celebration of Her Life at 11 am. Rev.
