Shirley A. Lake

Shirley A. Lake, 65, of Newark Valley passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Beechtree Care Center where she has resided since July. Shirley was born on October 19, 1949 in Waverly, a daughter of Walter Lake and the late Inez Lake. For many years, she was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Hiltop Nursing Home in Johnson City. Shirley treasured her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her father Walter Lake of Newark Valley; her children: Amy Smith of Hornell, NY; Cindi Hosmer of Ithaca and D.J. and his wife Beth Hosmer of Nichols; her sisters Mary Brink of Nichols; Barb Cicchelli of Pa; brother Robert Lake of North Carolina; her special grandchildren: Michael, George, Kyle, Andrew, Jordan, Lilly, Kendra, and Sage; great grandchildren: Bobby, Hayden and Ryder, several nieces, nephews and their families also survive. Shirley was predeceased by her mother Inez Lake; daughter Lisa Lake, brother Donald Lake, and a brother-in-law: Thomas Brink. Abiding with her wishes, services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
