Sheila E. Wakula

Sheila E. Wakula, 75, of Owego, and formerly of the Groton-Cortland area passed away at her home on Nov. 3, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. Sheila was predeceased by her parents John and Louise Gray and is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Walter J. Wakula; her cherished children: Dawn (Mitch) Rubinstein, Mark (Donna) Wakula, Deborah (Christopher) Luszczek, Denise (Jeff Eastman) Wakula; grandchildren: Michael, Kyra, Amanda, Matthew, Kristy, Christopher Jr., Joshua, Andrew, Hannah and great grandchildren Alecksah, Mackenzie, and Brooklin. Also surviving are her brothers, Rev. Bruce (Margaret) Gray and Ian (Joan) Gray, several nieces and nephews. Sheila retired after 44 years as a loyal and committed nurse working in the Cortland and Owego area. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and traveling with Walt. She will be greatly missed.A Memorial Service and Celebration of Sheilas Life will be held at the Jenksville United Methodist Church on Saturday, NOVEMBER 19 at 12 noon.
