Sally L. (Easton) Pickert of Slaterville Springs, entered new life on January 29, 2017.Born November 18, 1930 in Newark Valley, NY Daughter of the late Truman B. and Helen (Hall) Easton. Sally Married Norman A. Pickert in 1946, and together they enjoyed over 56 years of marriage. In Ithaca, Sally worked as a waitress, a hairdresser and at the genetics lab at Cornell University. Sally was incredibly proud of her Irish heritage, she loved Irish folk music and all things Irish. She was known for her beautiful gardens where you would often find her outside planting and weeding. She loved country music, dancing, shopping, The Dollar Store, yard sales, fishing, boating, her house by the pond, her lakeside cabin in Canada and her beer.Sally is survived by her children; Michael (Carolyn) Pickert of OK, Krista (Victor) Inman of Troy, NY, Timothy Duke Pickert of OK. Grandchildren; Gordie (Andrea) Inman, Gregory L. Inman, Kelly Keel (Ronald Lopez), Kevin Pickert. Great grandchildren; Taylor, Eric, Willem, Easton and Ella Cate Inman, Kylie, Gavin, Colin Keel, Carmen Lopez, Keegan Pickert. Sister Mary Alice (Robert) Williams of SC, In-laws W. Bradley (Diny) Pickert of CO and Lorraine (G. William) Daniels of TN and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dear friends; Lonnie Solley, Harry and Judy Dillis, Wilson and Ann Martin, Donald Giff and Rhoda Gifford. Her loyal companion Bonnie.Sally is preceded in death by her husband Norman A. Pickert, son Gordon A. Pickert, step mother Marjorie R. Easton, sister Elizabeth Betty Cretekos, father-in-law and mother-in-law Clair H. and Ellen (Reese) Pickert.Mom, no doubt you will make the gardens in Heaven even more beautiful then anyone could imagine. We love you so much and you will be missed by all who knew you.Services will be held at the MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley, NY on Wednesday, February 1st at 11 oclock. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project or charity of your choice. Private burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Berkshire, NY.
