You were gone before we knew it and only God knows why.Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Ron Husner, 59, was suddenly taken from our family as a result of an accident on Wednesday night, Oct. 31, 2012. He will live forever in the hearts of his loving wife, Loretta (Cook) Husner, adored children and their spouses, Ronald and Nicole Husner, Jr, Thomas Husner, Jackie and Dennis Wright, cherished grandchildren: Kelsey, Myla, Darrah and Joslyn; his brothers: Richard, Terry and Ernest Husner whos children, Michael, Shaun and Cheryl were so special to Ron; his sisters: Sandy Krempa and Diane (Gary) Dittman. Also surviving are Lorettas family: mother, Jane Cook, brother James and Debbie Cook and their sons Jack and Jamie and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. Ron also had a special place in his heart for his adopted daughter and her girls, Jennifer Malarkey, Kiera and Kayla. Born on Mar. 5, 1953 in Montour Falls, NY, Ron was a son of the late Carl and Madge (Coats) Husner and brother of the late Carl Husner, Jr. He was an employee of Greater Binghamton Health Center. In addition to being a great mechanic and a perfectionist, he was a talented artist. A few of the very fond memories of Ron that will always be treasured by his loved ones include, bon-fires on the hill, playing horse shoes, chauffeuring his teenage daughter and her friends to roller skating, and building mudding jeeps with his sons and their friends. He especially loved golfing with his sons, and finally this year figured out how to beat his son-in-law Dennis. He loved playing poker and going to parties with family and friends. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and loved spending as much free time with them as possible. He would take them on long walks on the hill, have sled riding parties and was happiest when surrounded by children. He especially loved Halloween when he could be found giving out candy in Newark Valley and he will always be remembered for his lift you off the ground bear hugs.A Celebration of Rons Life will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, Nov. 4 at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley. Rev. James T. Willard will officiate. His family will receive friends on Sat. from 3-6 PM at the Funeral Home.
