Rodney L. Rockwell, 64, of Berkshire,NY passed away on August 23, 2012 following an illness.Rod is survived by his wife, Beverly A. (Watkins) Rockwell; his sons: Mark Rockwell (Kelly), Matthew Rockwell (Laura) and Chad Milazzo; his mother, Janet Roblyer, sister, Dayl Rockwell Ripley, grandchildren: Ashley, Alexis, Kayden, Matthew, Jr. Michael and Daryn; step-son, Bryan W. Watkins, former mother-in-law, Mary Jane Callahan, several half- brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.Rod was born in Troy, PA on July 27, 1948. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Kay (Callahan) Rockwell, his step-father Scott Roblyer and his father, Leonard Rockwell. He was a graduate of Troy, PA High School, had attended Corning Community College and served 4 years in the US Navy. He has been an employee of IBM, now Lockheed Martin, for the past 39 years. In addition, Rob was an avid hunter, fisherman, certified trapping instructor and certified scuba diver. He also had a passion for motocross racing and traveled extensively with his boys as they raced. In 2008 he helped establish Rockwell Outdoors (.com) a site dedicated, to The Blue Collar Hunter and out-doors adventures. Rod was an outstanding father, grandfather and husband and will be greatly missed.A Funeral Service and celebration of Rods life will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, Aug. 28th at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St, Newark Valley. Rev. Philip Jordan will officiate. Burial will follow in Glen Hope Cemetery, Berkshire where military honors will be accorded. His family will receive friends on Monday Evening from 6-8 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home. Remembrances may be shared in his guestbook at macphersonfh.com
