Robert K. Tyler, 75, of Newark Valley, passed away on March 17, 2026, in his home surrounded by his family. Born on October 12, 1950, in Endicott, New York, Robert was the son of the late Robert and Rose (Robek) Tyler.
He is survived by his loving wife Linda Tyler, his beloved children Jason (Colleen) Tyler and Bobbie (Steve) Wandell, his grandchildren Collen (Sydney) Hills, Michael Wandell, Rose Wandell, Lily Tyler, Lucy Tyler, Layla Tyler, and Lina Tyler, his great-grandchildren Oakley Hills and Lennon Hills, as well as sister Tamara (Darrel) Hill, and his brother-in-law Bob Orzelek, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his sister MaryLou Orzelek.
Robert proudly served his country in the 204th Engineering Battalion in the New York National Guard from 1968 – 1978. Afterward he began what would be a 30-year career with IBM Lockheed Martin working in Facility Maintenance until his retirement.
Outside of work, you could find Robert tinkering with a car, keeping his yard mowed meticulously, or swinging gently on his front porch swing with his best pals Rudy and Ebby at his side.
Above all, Robert enjoyed spending time with his family. Many memories were made over the years at family beach trips to the Outer Banks. He was often known to share his ‘road stories,’ which were full of all types experiences and life lessons he had encountered.
Abiding Robert’s wishes, there will be no services at this time. Memories and condolences can be shared in his online guestbook at www.macphersonfh.com The family is under the caring guidance of MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley.
