It is with great sadness the family of Robert Riley Whittaker, Sr. announce his passing at his home in Sebring FL on May 26th 2018. Bob was born on April 1, 1941 in Berkshire, NY, the son of Riley and Charlotte (Fogle) Whittaker. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his older brother Donald. Bob is survived by his loving wife of almost 56 years, Diana (LAmoreaux) Whittaker and his children: Robert Whittaker, Jr., Sean Whittaker and his wife Jennifer, Michelle Whittaker and her husband Michael Wargo; his brother Dennis Whittaker, sister-in-law, Barbara Whittaker and his cherished grandchildren: Tyler (Jolene), Caitlyn (Corey), Nicholas, Rachel and great granddaughters, Tensley and Delany. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Bob was raised on the family farm in Brooktondale. Following graduation from Ithaca High School in 1960, he continued on at the family farm devoting his life to his family and many friends. He was a former member of St. Johns Episcopal Church in Speedsville. Bob loved his John Deere tractors, a game of poker or euchre at the Poor Shots and a good day of deer hunting as well as his golf cart and three wheeled bike. For the past 10 years Bob and Diana have made their home in Sebring but his heart always remained on the farm. His life was very full and productive and he will certainly be missed by his family and friends alike. A Graveside service will be held at 1 PM, Friday, June 1st at Evergreen Cemetery Berkshire. Those wishing to honor Bobs Life with a memorial are asked to kindly consider a contribution to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research, 469 7th Avenue, 498, New York, NY 10018 in memory of Robert R. Whittaker, Sr. MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley is assisting the family.
