Robert K. Miner

Robert K. Miner, 76, of Owego, passed away on February 4, 2011 at Robert Packer Hospital following an illness. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anna (Lovell) Miner; his five children, Mark Miner, Laurie Miner, Diane (David) Alexander, Kristie Miner, and Amy (Daniel) Braman; his grandchildren, Lindsey Sigmund and her fiance Matthew Tomazin, Nicholas and Louis Pratt, Natalie Braman, and Sara Miner. Bob is also survived by his in-laws, Jean and George Lovell, his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Alfred Demarest and Janice Hallock, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was born in Endicott on April 7, 1934. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Lula (Snyder) Miner and his sister Marna Plank.He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving four years and retired from IBM, Owego in 1987 following 30 years of service. A very talented wood craftsman, he shared his gift of scroll work with many. Bob also enjoyed bird watching and gardening in addition to being a registered amateur radio operator, (N2TLV). Bob and his family are extremely grateful to Dr. Susan Choi for her outstanding and compassionate care.A Memorial Service and celebration of Bobs Life will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Newark Valley at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 8. Rev. Nancy Adams will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 AM.
