Robert G. Pogar

Robert G. Pogar, Sr, 92, formerly of Newark Valley, passed away peacefully on Oct. 17, 2015 with his family at his side.Bob was born on Jan. 28, 1923 in Noxen, PA a son of the late Floyd A. and Caroline F. (Newberry) Pogar. He is survived by his wife of almost 37 years, Ina (Buckingham) Pogar; his sons: Robert (Teresa) Pogar, Dale (Barbara) Pogar, his daughter: Diane (the late Robert) Harrison; his stepdaughter Lynn (Roland) Saulnier; step son, Bernard (Carole) Perkosky ; sister Eleanor Dendler. Also surviving are his 8 grandchildren including his special granddaughter Tracy Savidge, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Bob proudly served in the US Army during WW 2 and was a former employee of Evans Plumbing and Heating, Endicott. His memberships included Endicott VFW and the American Legion and his pastimes included wintering in Florida, hunting, fishing, golfing and bowling. Bob will be greatly missed by many.Bobs Family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St. Newark Valley on Friday, Oct. 23 from 11 am until the time of a Memorial Service at 1 PM.
