Robert B. DalolaOf BerkshireRobert B. Dalola, 89, a lifelong resident and highly respected dairy farmer, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 following an illness. Bob was the youngest of ten children born to Battista and Mary (Ramacini) Dalola. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Minnie Spada, Kathryn Jordan Barnes, Mildred Jordan, Mary Overlander, Alvina Andrus, Bert and Milo Dalola and infant twin brothers, great grandson, Robert D. Liddington, Jr. and son-in-law, Roland N. Baker. On August 8, 1938, Bob married his sweetheart, Sophie (Lawton) Dalola. They celebrated their 70th anniversary this year. In addition to Sophie, Bob is survived by his children: Patricia Baker, Constance (Donald) Liddington, Margaret (Ronald) Amici and Robert (Coleen) Dalola. He adored his grandchildren, Allen Baker, Patricia Russell, Marsha Baker, Christine Russell, Denise Liddington, Robert Liddington, Donald Liddington, Carmen Amici, Gina Amici-Longo, Ronald Amici, Jr., Danielle Amici, Amanda Dalola, 25 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive.Bob was born on Feb. 2, 1919 in Monongahela, PA and 2 weeks after his birth his family moved to Berkshire (Speedsville) to establish the family farm. Bob began working the farm as a young boy and has continued doing so until just this past August.For many years he was an active participant with the Speedsville Baseball Team. He also served as a director of the Penn-York Co-Op, was a life member of the Berkshire Fire Dept., served on the Berkshire Town Board as Councilman and Supervisor and on the Board of Directors for the Berkshire Free Library. In addition Bob was a highly respected manufacturers representative for farm equipment and supplies. He loved to work .and was a friend to many. A funeral service and celebration of Bobs life will be held at 10 am on Saturday at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley. Rev. Philip Jordan will officiate. Interment will follow in the Speedsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday at the MacPherson Funeral Home from 4-7 PM.
