Richard S. Carman

Richard S. Carman, 75 of Harford Mills passed away on Feb.5, 2011 at Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca. He is survived by his children:Kenneth, Robert and Lyman Carman, Lena Shaff, Alma Reynolds, Patty Blackman and Sylvia Riley. Also surviving are his sisters: Bernice Spicer Alexander, and Mildred Merlette, many grand children, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Mr. Carman was born in Endicott, NY on July 23, 1935. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornealous and Eva (Rice) Carman,his wife, Ida Carman, his sons, Richard, Frank and Cornealous Carman and daughter Penny Lesnick. Mr. Carman was a retired employee of the former Howland Brothers in Berkshire.His family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 8 at the MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley from 1-2pm at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Archie Smith officiating. Spring interment will be in Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley.
