Richard Paul Kochel

Richard Paul Kochel, 53, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Newark Valley NY, on December 30, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Loretta Lynn Kochel, at home; his mother Linda Kochel, his father and step-mother, Richard Earl and Peggy Kochel; his children: Kyle (Hannah) Kochel, Michael Kochel, David Huettner, Shawn (Crystal) Degler; his brothers: Todd Rhine, Christopher Rhine, Matthew Kochel, Shawn Kochel, Ryan (Kristen) Kochel; a grandson, Alex Degler; several nieces and nephews and a dear family friend, Deborah Smith. He was anxiously awaiting the birth of his new granddaughter. Richie was raised in Shillington, PA and attended schools there. He was a self-employed carpenter and maintenance person and an extremely hard worker, proud to always be able to provide for his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outside, spending time with his dog, and watching baseball and football. He will always be remembered for his goofy jokes and his singing to his old music in the car as well as at work. Richard was always the Life of the Party and will surely be missed.
