Richard E. Vosburgh, 91, of Newark Valley, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Richard is survived by his devoted daughter, Cynthia Vosburgh. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years Betty Vosburgh on May 20, 2017. Born in Warsaw, NY, he was the son of Raymond and Dorothy Vosburgh, brother of Norma (Irving) MacLean, Robert (Florence) Vosburgh, Arlene Vosburgh, and James Vosburgh, all who predeceased him. Richard was a veteran of World War ll, serving in the US Army. Dick and Betty came to Endicott in 1948 where he was a radio announcer for WENE. He was a devoted and active member of Main Street Baptist Church for 63 years and served as both Deacon and Trustee. A retiree of IBM, he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Dick always had a fascination and love for flying and enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. Some of his other hobbies included cartooning and writing poetry, many of which have been featured in The Moonlighter. Dick and Betty enjoyed many winters in Florida where they gathered many fond memories. Friends are invited to the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Wednesday, September 13 from 12-2 pm. A service will follow at Hope Cemetery. The family would like to thank Lourdes Hospice for all their care and support.
