Richard Dean Perry, 85, of Richford, passed away on August 27, 2024 at his home. He was Born on September 19, 1938 in Tioga, NY, a son of the late Dan B. and Wilma (Head) Perry.

Richard is survived by his children Richard (Dawn) Perry Jr., Rosemarie (Ugo) Spadolini, David Perry, Gary Leo Perry, and Debbie (Enoch) Perkins, 10 beloved grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He will also be dearly missed by his sister Emerise Whitmarsh, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Irene, his brothers Robert Perry and Dan Perry, his sister Dorothy Steele, his granddaughter Kelly Perkins, and his longtime companion Bev Whitmarsh.

Richard's early years were marked by a commitment to service, as he proudly served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1964. His time in the military honed his discipline and dedication—traits that would define his career and personal life. After his honorable discharge, Richard channeled his meticulous nature into a successful career as a self-employed carpenter and woodworker. His expertly crafted kitchen cabinetry and numerous garages stand as a testament to his skill and attention to detail.

Not one to sit idle, Richard's passion extended beyond his workshop. He was an avid trapshooter, and love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him, with many memories made while hunting, fishing, and camping. Carry Falls in the Adirondacks held a special place in his heart—a natural retreat where he found both adventure and tranquility.

Richard's life was a blueprint of authenticity and craftsmanship, and though he has laid down his tools, the structures he built and the lives he enriched stand as enduring monuments to a life well-lived.

Richard will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, Berkshire, at a private graveside service.
