Richard A Hoskins, Sr.

Richard A. Hoskins Sr., 78, of Maine, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at his home surrounded in the love of his family. Rick is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Susann; his sons, whom he was so very proud of: Richard A. Jr and Lori, Jeffery and Michelle, James Sr. and Kim, and Jeremy and Bree Hoskins. He was a loving Poppi to his 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister Beverly Sackett, sisters-in-law Sandra Halliday and Sheila Wheatley; a special nephew Charles (Donna) ODaniels; many other nieces, nephews, cousins and his faithful four legged companion, Angus. In addition to his parents, Charles and Catherine, he was predeceased by his dear son Jason. Rick retired from the Maine Highway Dept. He had also been a dairy farmer, a member of Local#7, Hod Carriers Union and a former member of the Maine Fire Co. He enjoyed NASCAR, football and hunting but his happiest times were spent in his garden, working around his home and with his family. Ricks family would like to thank the nurses from Twin Tiers Home Health who lovingly cared for him these last few years and also Lourdes Hospice. His family will receive friends at Most Holy Rosary Church, Rt. 26, Maine, NY on Tuesday, Dec. 12th from 3-5 pm. A Memorial Service will follow there at 5 oclock. In lieu of flowers kindly consider directing memorial to SPEAK Animal Sanctuary, 351 Flint Rd. Binghamton 13905 in memory of Richard A.
