Rev. Jackson H. Cox, 85, was united with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 25, 2014. He leaves behind, his wife, best friend and soul mate of 18 years, Carol (Foux) Cox; daughters: Heidi Chase and Jodi (Jeff) Kyle; mother-in-law, Dorothy Foux and family and his faithful canine companion, Kelsi. He was born on Sept. 16, 1928 in East Liverpool, Ohio a son of the late Henry and Dorothea Hayes Cox and brother of the late William Cox. Rev. Cox has served in the Pastorate for 64 years at various locations including OH, VT, CT, NE, PA (Carverton Charge) and Berkshire, NY. Most recently he served at the Halsey Valley United Methodist Church. He was an avid reader, a talented artist in all mediums, enjoyed photography and travelingLancaster, PA being his favorite destination. He was blessed with a beautiful voice and joyously used it to sing praise to God! Friends are invited to call at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Friday, May 30, from 4-8 pm for a period of visitation and sharing of memories.A Funeral Service and Celebration of His Life will be held at the Newark Valley United Methodist Church at 1 oclock on Saturday with Richard Vanderpool, Pastor of Halsey Valley UMC, officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Berkshire, NY.The family will provide flowers.
