Randy C. Klock

Randy C. Klock, 77, of Berkshire, passed away on June 12, 2025, with his brother and sister-in-law by his side. Randy was born on December 10, 1947 in Boulder, Colorado, the son of the late Richard and Alice (Andersen) Klock.

He is survived by his brother Frederick (Aniiyah) Klock, his sister Katherine (John) Starring, his life partner's children, Marcelle and Heather, his nephews, Cory, Kyle, and Kevin, and a large extended family.

In addition to his parents, Randy was predeceased by his life partner Jane Kobylarz and his nephew Jettero Klock.

A proud Army veteran, Randy served his country in from 1967 when he was appointed as a Second Lieutenant to 1981, attaining the rank of Major. Throughout his military career, Randy held many diverse rolls, from an explosive ordinance disposal specialist in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division, a Cannon Field Artillery Officer, to a Combat Engineering officer. One role he was particularly proud of was his time as a company commander for the 98th Training Division, where he led young soldiers through their Advance Individual Training in Ithaca, NY. Randy was awarded many medals and commendations, including a Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medals, Vietnam Campaign and Service Medals, amongst many others. His commitment to his nation was a testament to his character, and his service remained a significant part of his identity throughout his life. Upon returning to civilian life, Randy channeled his precision, leadership, and skill into a fulfilling career as an engineer at Pall Trinity Corporation in Cortland, New York.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Randy was a man of diverse interests and talents. A gifted painter and photographer, with a special fondness for photographing covered bridges and lighthouses. His love for reading and passion for knowledge made him a lifelong learner, always eager to explore new ideas and expand his horizons. 

Randy's appreciation for nature's tranquility was most evident in his love for his property on Andersen Hill. It was here that he found solace and joy, living next door to his brother, in the quiet, and stillness. The great outdoors was his sanctuary, and he spent countless hours bird watching, hiking, and proudly climbing the peaks of the Adirondacks, each summit a testament to his adventurous spirit.

His feline companions were a constant source of comfort and friendship, with many cats having the privilege of his care throughout his life. Cody, his beloved cat and best friend, was a cherished companion who provided joy and companionship in his later years. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Guthrie Lourdes Hospice for their attentive and passionate care of Randy.

Friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life and BBQ, on July 5th, 2025, at 12:00 Noon, at his residence, 373 Andersen Hill Road, Berkshire, NY, where military honors will be accorded and his cremated remains scattered on the hill he so loved.
