Ralph L. Baldwin, 86. Of Maine, NY, went home to be with his Lord early Tuesday morning, Nov. 12, 2013. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Beverly (Russell) Baldwin, and his devoted children, Russell (Cynthia) Baldwin and Cheri Carter;his very special daughter and her husband, Cynthia (Paul) McDonaldas well as his cherished grandchildren: Ian (Jessica) Baldwin, Jeremiah (Leslie) Delafield, Caleb (Amber) Carter, Cinnamon (Jonathan) Peppin and great grandchildren:Ryley Miller, Jackson Delafield, Lewis Peppin and Alexander Baldwin; o1 nephew and several cousins.Born in Cohoes, NY on August 25, 1927, he was the son of Ralph H. and Jane (Smith) Baldwin. Ralph served as a Merchant Marine at the start of WW II and then proudly served in the US Navy. He was a certified Master Welder and was employed at BEC, E.H. Tichnor and Magnetic Labs. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening and reading Western Novels. He also enjoyed playing shuffle board and cards and was a collector of old bottles and fishing lures. Following his retirement, Ralph and Beverly were able to enjoy many winters in Florida. They were members of the Maine Federated Church and also attended Union Center Christian Church.His family will receive friends on Saturday, at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley from 11 am until 12:45 PM with a Funeral Service and Celebration of his Life at 1PM. Inurnment will follow in the Maine Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, kindly direct memorials to American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St Johnson City, NY 13790.
