Phyllis Haines Dibble

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.Phyllis L. Haines Dibble, 84, our wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday Feb. 2, 2013. She will be greatly missed by her devoted children and their spouses: James J. Haines, Jerry T. and Libby Haines, Wendy A. and Charles Haskell, Susan and Richard Cole, Elisabet Betsy Haines, Jean (Bill Bard) Homan; grandchildren: Travis, Tyler, Kendall, Matthew, Jami, Jenna, Christopher, Michelle, Brian, Mandy, Richard, Scott, Adam, Andy, Nora, Sara; 8 great grandchildren, brother, James B. Lyke, daughter-in-law, Audrey Haines and several nieces and nephews.Phyllis was born on Oct. 21, 1928 in Syracuse, NY a daughter of the late James S. and Dorothy Lyke. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husbands: Jerald D. Haines and Kern Dibble, son, Jack D. Haines and sister, Carol Bridge. She graduated from Newark Valley High School, in the Class of 1946. It was in High School that she began to advance and nurture her artistic ability. She became a very talented oil paint artist. Her family was the center of her life. Phyllis was a great listener, had a wonderful sense of humor, loved her word searches, popsicles and chocolate and was always thrilled to celebrate special occasions with her family in her home that she treasured. Her family will hold a celebration of her life at a later date to be announced.
