Patrick T. Flynn, 75, passed away suddenly on March 12, 2010. Patrick is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Marguerite (Groupe) Flynn, his devoted sons and daughter-in-law, Edward Flynn, of Owego, Kevin and Kelly Flynn, of Elmira, and Brian Flynn of Owego. Also surviving are his cherished grandson Aidan Patrick Flynn, of Elmira, his sister Frances (Dennis) Clarcq, his brother-in-law, Richard Averill, and sister-in-law, Roberta Flynn, several nieces and nephews.Patrick was born in Greenwood, NY on February 26, 1935 a son of the late Robert J. and Ella (Dunn) Flynn. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his 9 siblings, Robert, Michael, Raymond, Richard, Louie, Charles, Anna Averill, Catherine Gray, and Rosellen Flynn. He was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University in 1959 and retired from IBM in Endicott following more than 32 years of service. Patrick was a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Newark Valley, a member and Past Master of Speedsville-Newark Valley Masonic Lodge #265 F&AM and recipient of their Dedicated Service Award; a member and Past Patron of Onyx Chapter # 196 OES; Past District Grand Lecturer of Chemung-Schuyler-Tioga District, OES and an honorary member of Nichols Chapter 175 OES. Patrick was a life-long fan of the Baltimore Orioles and often visited Camden Yards.His family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St. Newark Valley. Masonic and Eastern Star Services will be conducted at 7:45 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, Rock St., at 10:30 am on Tuesday with Rev. William A. Moorby officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Those wishing to honor Patrick's memory with a memorial contribution are asked to kindly consider a donation to the Campville Emergency Squad.
