Patricia G. Geiger

January 10, 1937 — February 2, 2025

Patricia G. Geiger, 88, of Newark Valley, passed away on February 2, 2025. Born on January 10, 1937, Patricia's life was one marked by passion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to her family and faith.


Pat will be dearly missed by her daughter Polley (Stephen) Eichmann, along with her step children Dan (Marilyn) Geiger, Tim Geiger, Sharon (Bart) Dellapenna, Kathleen (George) Dickerson, and Mike (Jodie) Goodwin, her loving grandchildren Elijah, Luke (Rachel), Lydia (Calvin), Gracelyn, and Joash, and numerous step-grandchildren, as well as her brother Jim Pitcher, and her sister and best friend Barbara Henderson. Pat also leaves behind her special feline companion 'Baby.'


Pat was predeceased by her parents Leslie and Loretta Daniels, and her husband Donald Geiger.


For many years, Patricia was the heart of the classroom at Newark Valley Central Schools, where she shaped the minds and hearts of countless children as a beloved kindergarten teacher. Her gentle guidance and nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on her students, many of whom carried her lessons of kindness and curiosity throughout their lives.


Beyond the classroom, Patricia was deeply involved with her church, the First Baptist Church of Newark Valley. Her love for music was evident as she played the organ for her congregation, filling the sanctuary with beautiful hymns and melodies that uplifted the spirits of all who heard them. Her devotion to her faith was steadfast, and she lived every day with the intention of reflecting the love of the Lord in her actions and words.


Pat’s interests reached far and wide. She had an insatiable love for travel, exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. Her journeys were always full of adventure and joy, and she cherished each memory made on her travels. At home, Patricia was known for her sweet tooth, with a particular fondness for chocolate, ice cream, and all manner of sweets. One of her most cherished activities being Sunday trips to Richford with her sister Barbara to get an ice cream Sunday.


Those who knew Patricia would describe her as loving, faith-filled, and passionate. She approached every aspect of her life with a warm heart and open arms. Her capacity to love and her strength of spirit were limitless, and she became a source of comfort and inspiration to everyone she met.


A service celebrating Pat’s life will be held on Friday February 7, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Newark Valley, 40 Whig Street, Newark Valley, NY at 1:00 p.m. A period of visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the spring where she will be laid to rest at Hope Cemetery next to her husband Donald.
