Norman L Darrow

Norman L. Darrow, 83, of Elmira, NY, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2018 at the Corning Center, after a brief illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Marium and Norman Darrow and special cousins, Robert and Ann Miner. He is survived by many cousins and by staff and friends at the Barton Home in Elmira, where he resided for the past 10 years.Norman was born on March 28, 1935, in Binghamton, NY. He grew up in Gaskill Corners, Owego and attended Gaskill Corners School. He was employed for a period of time at the Endicott Johnson Tannery. In his later years, he enjoyed attending the day program at Elcor in Elmira.Norman was a gentle soul with a good sense of humor. One of his greatest joys was visiting with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.Norman's family is very grateful to the staff at the Barton Home for their kind and loving care and to the staff at the Corning Center for the care and support they provided to Norman during the past month.A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 25 at 5:30 P.M. at the Broadway Cemetery, 1892 Day Hollow Rd., Owego, NYMacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley is assisting the family.
