Norine J. Wallace

Norine J. Wallace, 79, formerly of Binghamton, passed peacefully in her sleep on June 10, 2012, at the home of her daughter Janet, where she had been residing for the past several years. Norine was born on Sept. 11, 1932 in Belmont NY a daughter of Earl and Minnie (Edwards) Holt. She was predeceased by her brothers, Nelson and Norman and sisters, Leola Haynes and Leota Truax. Norine is survived by her daughters, Joyce Wallace and Janet Buhr, Janets husband, Dan, and their son Brad and granddaughter Lily. Also surviving is her sister (best friend) and brother-in-law, Mary and Robert Shellhammer, their son Steve and his wife Diane and their children Alex and Tori. Norine received her Master Degree in Education from Cortland State College. She was a beloved and creative teacher at Maine Endwell Central School for 32 years. Her family will receive friends on Thursday from 11am until noon at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St. Newark Valley. A committal service will follow at Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley.
