Nelson W. Cady

Nelson W. Cady, 74, of Owego, passed away on March 3, 2026, following a brief period of declining health. Nelson was born on November 6, 1951, a son of the late Floyd Cady and Marjorie Morgan.

He is survived by his daughters Monica Crysler, Melissa Graham, and Jessica (Cory) Jordan and his beloved grandchildren Nelson, Marissa, Madilynn, and Mason. In addition to his family, he will be greatly missed by his friends Bob Jordan, Jeremy Jordan, the Sheldons/Truesdails and Charlie Howe as well as his feline companions Smokey and Remy.

After many years of missing her he is now reunited with his loving wife Ruth Cady.

Nelson loved the warmth of a summer campfire, especially with his family at his side. He loved listening to the boys play guitar and sing and would often sit back in his chair and “rest his eyes”. Nelson was always the life of the party when he showed up to Christmas gatherings dressed as Santa. His smile lit up the room. He also enjoyed target shooting, spending time with his grandchildren and his cats. He loved taking pictures of nature and talking about his native american heritage.
