Max "Tim" Chandler

Max T. "Tim" Chandler, 52, of Newark Valley, passed away on July 2, 2024, due to a tragic motor vehicle accident. Born on August 31, 1971, a son of the late John S. and Linda (Elliott) Chandler, Tim's life was characterized by his dedication to his family, his passion for carpentry, and his love for the great outdoors.

Tim is survived by his beloved longtime companion and best friend, Melissa Wheeland, his loving children Marissa (Dylan Ayers) Chandler, Max Chandler, and Ryan “Cookie” Chandler. Tim's legacy continues through his

grandchildren, Hayden, Gabriella, Julianna, and Ellyannah Ayers, who brought him immeasurable happiness.

He is also survived by his step-father Don Swansbrough Sr., siblings Dixie Settle, Robin (Roger) Swansbrough, Richard (Lucky) Chandler, Mike Forker, and Don (Tracey) Swansbrough Jr. Melissa’s family: Ruth and Frank

Wheeland, Christina (Les) Furman, Beverly (Roger) Wheeland, Tamara (Mike) Groover, brothers-in-law Steven Mattscheck, his best friend Eric Bowen, and his two faithful four-legged companions Molly and Willow.

In addition to his parents, Tim was predeceased by his brother John Chandler. He was a man of simple pleasures, finding joy in the tranquility of a quiet morning by the lake, the hunting, and the strategy of a well-played card game. Tim's laughter was infectious, and his ability to have a good time was unparalleled, making every gathering a memorable event.

A celebration of Tim’s life will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 11:00a.m. at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, NY.
