Mary Niznik Judski

Mary Niznik Judski, 88, of Newark Valley, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2015. Mary is survived by her loving children, Jim Judski and Jeanie (Tim) Walsh and many loving nieces, nephews cousins and dear friends. Born on Sept. 6, 1927 in Wilkes Barre Pa, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Katchuk) Niznik. She was also predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Chet Judski, her brothers: Harry, Michael (Betty) Niznik, Peter (Nora) Niznik and sister, Helena N. McCullough. A long-time and devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Newark Valley, Mary was a member of the Rosary Society and shared her beautiful voice with the Choir for more than 50 years. A very loving, caring and compassionate woman as well as a tireless worker she has touched many lives with her sincerity and warmth. Mary enjoyed gardening and then canning the fruits of her labors. Her delicious baked goods and tastefully prepared meals (especially the Polish dishes) were a favorite of all. And many, many young adults will also remember Mary and the dietary staff at Newark Valley Central School cafeteria for the meals and more especially for the delicious homemade cookies lovingly prepared for them. Her lovely and beautiful smile will be greatly missed along with her presence. Mary's family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec. 27 from 2-4 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home in Newark Valley.
