Mary J. Struble, 95, formerly of Newark Valley, passed away at her residence in Tennessee on Sept. 11, 2012. Mary is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Leslie and Donna Struble, Charles and Elizabeth Struble; her sister, Olive Beatrice Bean; grandchildren: Bonnie, Wayne and Wendy; great grandchildren: Jeffrey, Derek, Gabriell, Kirsten and Samantha and many nieces and nephews.Born on Sept. 20, 1916 in the Town of Candor, she was one of ten children born to Oliver and Sarah (Hoyt) Signs. She was predeceased by her husbands, George Struble, Duane Tuttle and her 8 siblings. Mary enjoyed traveling with George in their motor home (Mary did all the driving and hook-ups!) throughout the US. She enjoyed meeting people, loved her family dearly and held a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her retirement in TN, she was the queen of quilting and sewing taking great delight in helping others. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, Sept. 16th , from noon until 2 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley. A Funeral Service and celebration of her life will follow there at 2 PM with Rev. James K. Boodley officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
