Mary J. Burr

Mary J. Burr, 69, formerly of Cooperstown, passed away on June 10, 2016. Mary has been residing at the home of her daughter, Shirley in Newark Valley, for the past several months. Born on July 25, 1946 in Norwich, NY, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Gladys (Boise) Chase. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward Chase. She is survived by her children: Teresa and Brian Mabie, Frank (Shiela Shaul) Parshall, Delilah (James) Bouck, David and Donna Parshall, Shirley and Jerry Rupert; her brothers: Fred (Diane) Chase, Donald (Christine) Chase, Ronald Chase; her sister Gladys Hunt and sister-in-law, Faith Chase. Also surviving are her 14 grandchildren: Kimberly, John, Shannon, Justin, Shannon, Paige, Chad, Ryan, Jimmy, Taylor, Justin, Kyle, Shelby 'Belly', Brandon 'Bud'and her 17 great grandchildren: Alexis, Trinity 'Trin', Jemma, Gabriella 'Gabby', Peyton, Johnny, Tyler, Alexis, Riley, Cloe, Jasmine, Bryce, Peyton, Addison 'Addy', Olivia, Lauren and Holly 'Holly Bug'; many nieces and nephews and her special friends;Shirley Monroe and 'Red' Monroe.Mary loved all animals, especially, birds, dogs and cats. Now she is with her favorite dog, Foxy.During her last few months, she enjoyed special visits with her granddaughter "Belly", playing her favorite game, dominoes, and also enjoyed many lovely visits with her grandson 'Bud'. She also enjoyed the many visits with her great grandchildren 'Trin' and 'Gabby' and Johnny. Simply hearing Johnny's name mentioned, brought a huge smile to her face and a bright sparkle to her eyes. She also like to reminisce with her 'Holly Bug' about their times together swinging, sharing many secrets and their special 'Breakfast Club'.
