Mary Ellen Guiles

Mary Ellen Guiles, 85, of Newark Valley, passed away on Jan. 29, 2015 following a period of declining health. Mary Ellen is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: David and Maria Guiles, Gary and Barbara Oliver, Gregory Oliver, Michael and Joanne Oliver; her grandchildren: Kyle, Andrew, Jordan, Chandler, Theresa, Christopher, Todd, Heather and Michael as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Born in Edmondston, NY, Mary Ellen was a daughter of the late Michael and Vivian Ziats. She was also predeceased by her husband James in 2010 and her siblings. Mary Ellen was a member of the First United Church of Christ, UCC, Newark Valley. She loved her home, her family, rides in the country, the Thousand Islands, her feline and canine friends and never passed up an opportunity to play BINGO!Family and friends will gather at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Saturday, Jan. 31 from 12-1 pm. A Celebration of her Life will follow there at 1 oclock with her son, Gregory Oliver officiating.
