Marshall H. Andrews, Jr., 83, passed away suddenly at his home on Dec. 6, 2011.He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marion (Bucher) Andrews, his son Marshall, III, his brother, Douglas (Mary Lee) Andrews, cousin, Robert Weissflog, sisters-in-law, Carol Hogan and Phyllis Moser and several nieces and nephews. Marshall and Marions daughter, Holly Beth passed in 2007.Born on Nov. 19, 1928 in Bainbridge, Marshall was the son of Marshall H. and Helen M. (Howland) Andrews. He was a graduate of Bainbridge Central High School and Syracuse University receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree, cum laude, in Management. He served in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955 during the Korean Conflict followed by 28 years as an Active Reservist, retiring as Captain. He was an employee of IBM Corp. for 32 years holding various management positions in Vestal, Owego, East Fishkill and Endicott.Marshall was a member of Southern Tier Chapter, Military Officers Assoc. of America and an annual participant in the Memorial Day parade and services in Bainbridge. He traveled extensively with Marion in this country as well as over seas.His family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7 pm at the MacPherson Funeral Home, 5 Whig St., Newark Valley. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Saturday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Bainbridge with full military honors accorded.Memorials may kindly be directed to Stray Haven Humane Society, 194 Shepard Rd., Waverly, NY 14892 in memory of Marshall H.
