Mark W Rupert

Mark W. Rupert, 65, of Newark Valley, passed away on May 8, 2018 comfortably at home in the care of family. Mark was predeceased by his by his devoted wife of 38 years, Sandra Rupert. Mark is survived by his loving children: Shina (Michael) Harris, Jeffery (Chrissy Smith) Rupert and his cherished grandchildren Mackenzie, Sullivan, Trentyn and Collin. Also surviving are his siblings: Pauline Thompson, Laura Underwood, Nancy Cooper, and William Rupert, many nieces, nephews, his very supportive extended family members, and friends. He was the son of the late Willis C. and Phyllis (Sears) Rupert and was also predeceased by his siblings: Vera Dyer, Richard, Clair, Ray and Jerry Rupert.Known by many as Odie, Mark was an employee of the former Howland Brothers saw mill, Berkshire and also a volunteer for the Berkshire Fire company. Mark loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Along with many family members and friends he was a big football and NASCAR fan. Mark had a special fondness for each of his grandchildren and was proud of each of their accomplishments: Mackenzie for her academic and career accomplishments, Sullivan for his musical and acting talents, Trentyn for his amazing wrestling and football skills, and Collin for his hunting and fishing talents. More than anything, he loved his family, who all agree there was not a more dedicated father or grandfather.There will be a gathering for family and friends at the Berkshire Fire Station on Saturday, May. 12 at 2 pm.
