Mark Smith

Mark A. Smith, 63, of Owego, passed away on October 3, 2020 at Beechtree Rehabilitation Center in Ithaca after a long illness. He is survived by his brothers Mike (Teresa) Smith, William (Cyndee) Smith, and Jeffrey (Antoinette) Smith, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Robert Sr. and Eleanor Smith, and his brothers Gary and Robert Smith Jr. Mark was a graduate of Fabius-Pompey High School and SUNY Oswego. He had recently retired from Binghamton University where he served many years as a dedicated officer with the University Police Department. Mark enjoyed hunting, target shooting, and anything having to do with the railroad-one of his keen interests. Mark's family would like to thank his caregivers and especially his neighbors, who watched over him and cared for his property during his debilitating illness. Friends and family are invited to a prayer service at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, NY, on Friday, October 9th at 10 o'clock.
