Mark Hutcheson

January 18, 1959 — November 1, 2022

Mark Alan Hutcheson, 63, of Whitney Point, passed away in his home on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 following a brief illness. Mark was born in Endicott on January 18, 1959, the son of the late Rexford and Kathleen Hutcheson. He was also predeceased by his brother Dennis and his best friend, "Richie" Richard J Dorsogna. He is survived by many cousins, many camping friends, and many friends in Whitney Point. A special thanks to a dear friend and caretaker Tommy Possinger and to all from Lourdes Hospice who provided extraordinary care of Mark. In lieu of flowers you may donate to Lourdes Hospice in Marks name. Mark graduated from Maine-Endwell HS and earned his Associate in Applied Science Business degree, learning four computer languages from Broome Community College. Mark drove school bus for Maine-Endwell for several years, then moved on to drive bus for BC Transit. During his tenure there, Mark was honored with the title of "Driver of The Year" two consecutive years, 2004 and 2005. He also helped organize, volunteer in, and compete in, many Southern Tier Bus Rodeos winning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd placements. Upon retirement, unable to sit still, Mark drove school bus for Whitney Point until he became ill. Mark loved serving others, loved driving, and he loved his school bus children. There will be a Celebration of His Life held at the Lisle, NY Fire House on Sunday November 27, 2022. A short service at 1:00 PM will be led by Thomas Evansew with a eulogy by Tommy Possinger followed by a time for reminiscent stories and dinner. All family and friends are welcome.
