Marjorie Stevens Gehen

Marjorie Stevens Gehen passed away on March 4, 2018 at the age of 90 years. A long-time resident of Newark Valley, Marjorie attended school and raised five children in the community. Marjorie was a brilliant woman with a broad array of interests. She was an avid reader, musician, and lover of history who greeted friends and strangers alike with an open hand and loving heart. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and zest for all things Scottish will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Marjorie Is survived by her daughters; Melanie (Bruce) Gehen-Benedict Annandale, VA, Cynthia G. (Louis)Swann Jr. of McLean, VA; daughters in law Carol Gehen (wife of Calvin), Patricia Gehen (wife of David); Grandchildren Bryan (Lauren) Benedict of Providence RI, Cameron Benedict of Richmond, VA, Alexander Doyle Swann of New York, NY, Julianna Stevens Swann of McLean, VA, Rebecca (Brandon) Ausman, Round Rock, TX, Sean (Amy) Gehen, Westfield, IN, Kathleen (Stephen) Sheffield, Fabius, NY, Amy (Eric) Monson, Kaysville, UT, Sarah (Jason) Pyne, Springville, UT, Shannon (Todd) Gehen of Wilmington, NC, Matthew Gehen Wilmington, NC, Lauren (Chance) Spoonhower of Berkshire, NY. Great-grandchildren; Emma, Benjamin, Andrew, Hannah, Bethanie, Sadie, Brady, Wesley, Jolie, Tyler, Matthew, Emily, Sarah, Eliza, Hailey, Collin, Grant, Reagan and Caleb, Chance Jr., Dillon, Lakin. Brothers; Donald Stevens of CO, Neil B. Stevens of MA, Walter H. Stevens of Newark Valley, N.Y. Sister; Jean Marie Stevens of Johnson City, N.Y. and numerous Nieces and nephews. Marjorie is predeceased by her parents Calvin H. and Margaret S. Stevens. Sons; Calvin William Gehen, David George Gehen, Stephen P. Gehen.Marjories family will receive friends at the United Methodist Church, Newark Valley on Friday, March 9th from 10-12pm. A celebration of her life will immediately follow.
