Marjorie E Demarco

Marjorie E DeMarco, 93, was united with her Lord on April 30, 2017. She was predeceased by her parents Herbert and Ruth (Huxster) Heron and her sister Dorothy. She is survived by her very special nephews, David (Lori) and Robert (Kim) Johns of FL; several great nieces, nephews and 12 cousins: Carol (her very special caregiver) Hammond, Bill, Tom and Jack Hammond, Kathy Gombas, Sally Dingman, Barbara Hendrick, Harley and Art Hammond, Susan Hammond, Sharon Bellenoit, Lisa Hammond; and her devoted best friend, Georgie Peterson. Following graduation from Binghamton Central High School in 1942, Margie joined the US Navy and served her enlistment in Washington, DC. She was a long-time member of Ascension Lutheran Church and until quite recently, lent her beautiful voice in solos, often without accompaniment. Fellow members of the church admirably called her their Songstress. Margie was an avid reader, often completing a book in one day, an expert at crossword puzzles and Scrabble(r) and journeyed many miles on her 3 wheel bicycle. She considered her greatest treasures her family, her church and her pets. Her Family will receive friends at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley on Friday from 10-11 am at which time Military Honors will be accorded followed by a Memorial Service with Deacon Sandy Kadlecik officiating.
