Marie R. Payne

Marie R. Payne, 82,of Berkshire, passed peacefully at her home, in the presence of her loving family, on Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Marie is survived by her daughter Terrie Abbatoy and companion, Jim Marsh, her sons and daughters-in-law: Eugene and Betty Payne, James Cricket and Michele Payne, John and Melody Payne; 13 cherished grandchildren: Brian, Chris, Jacob, Matthew, Joshua, Marcus, Jesse, Kyle, Cody, Dylin, Jacqueline, Rachael and Levi, and great grandchildren: Derrick, Travis, Rhyley, Cadence, and Jackson; brothers and sisters-in-law: Arthur and Joyce Payne, Violet Payne and Karl and Jackie Payne and several nieces and nephews.Born on Feb. 8, 1930 in Center Lisle, NY, Marie was a daughter of Samuel and Mabel (King) Kingsbury. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene L. Payne on June 3, 1991, grandson, Daniel Payne, sisters: Frances Allen, Mabel Royce, June Nixon and nephews: Arthur and Sam Nixon (who were raised by Marie and Gene) and Kenny and Paul Nixon. Marie was a kind and caring woman who enjoyed her home, her TVespecially news shows, country music festivals, winter retreats in Florida and most especially her family. Her presence will be truly missed.Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the MacPherson Funeral Home on Friday, June 1 from 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 9-9:45 AM followed by a Funeral Service and celebration of her life at 10 AM with Rev.
