Marie L. Finagan

Marie Louise FinaganMarie Louise Finagan, 82, fell asleep in the arms of the Lord on January 18, 2009. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born on Nov. 5, 1926 in Lincoln, Neb., Marie was the daughter of the late Claude and Mabel (Reynolds) Hollers. She was also predeceased by her loving husband of 57 years, Thomas J. Finagan, her gifted and much loved daughter, Kate Foster and her first grandson, Matthew Foster. Marie was an especially loving mother and will be greatly missed by her surviving son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Denise Finagan, her daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Eugene Sdobnev (with whom she has resided for the past several years), her cherished grandchildren: Rosemary Fury, Jennifer Foster, Robert (Risa) Foster, Melissa (Larry) Selenski, Janine (Joe) Guiterrez, Breanne Finagan, Eugene Sdobnev, Nadia Vanderpool and Tonya Sdobnev; great grandchildren: Brendan, Matthew, David, Kate, Ariana, Dakota, Isaac, Elijah, and Natalie. Also surviving are her brother George Hollers, sister Opal Blodgett several nieces and nephews and son-in-law, Phil Foster.Marie was a member of St. Maximus the Confessor Church, Gaskill Rd, Owego, where her funeral service will be held today, Tuesday, Jan 20th at 10:30 am. Fr. Thomas Marretta will officiate and burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be directed to her church c/o Dr. Lazarus Gehring, 4575 Gaskill Rd.
