Mable Julia (Judy) Swan, 80 of Glen Aubrey, was united with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 8, 2014. Judy passed at home in the loving care of all her family. Born on October 2, 1934 in Endicott, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Mable J. (Vanderpool) Schermerhorn and sister of the late Everett Cub and Maynard Schermerhorn. Judy is survived by her loving husband of 63 years: Kenneth C. Swan, Jr.; her son and daughters: Steven (Vicki) Swan, Denise (Doug) Swarts, Susan (Mike) Holden, Andrea (Bill) Eichhorn, Nicole (Mike) Clark; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, 2 brothers-in-law and 4 sisters-in-law.Judy was a faithful and active member of West Endicott Baptist Church. For many years she was a valued employee of Barnes Stores working in both Glen Aubrey and Maine. She was an avid reader, loved to garden, enjoyed sewing and tole painting and was a great cook. More recently, she enjoyed helping her daughters, Nikki and Andy by making Christmas Cookies and also assist at the Open House festivities at their Country Wagon Produce Stand. She was a loving, kind and compassionate woman and above all she lived her faith. A Funeral Service and Celebration of Judys Life will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, Oct. 22nd , at West Endicott Baptist Church with her Pastor, Rev. Robert McGehee officiating. Friends are also invited to visit and share stories and memories at the MacPherson Funeral Home, Newark Valley, on Tuesday, Oct. 21st, from 6-8 pm.For those wishing to honor Judy with a memorial contribution kindly consider Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Rd., Vestal, 13850 in her name.
