Louise VanVorce, 76,of Owego and a former resident of Weltonville for many years, passed away on June 3, 2010 following a short illness. Louise is survived by her boys and their spouses: Marcus and Jeannie VanVorce, John and Teresa VanVorce, Roger and Kathleen VanVorce, Ken and Peggy VanVorce.Also surviving are her brothers; Joe 'Red' and Mary Hines, Merton and Patricia Hines, Robert and Valona Hines, her sisters; Hattie Testa, Emily Edwards, sister-in-law, Vivian Hines, 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends including her best and dear friend Mary Edsall. Louise was born in the Town of Candor on May 19, 1934 a daughter of the late Raymond and Edna (Brink) Hines. She was predeceased by her husband, Marcus H. VanVorce in 2001, her infant son, Timothy and her brother, Raymond Hines. She was a faithful member of the Fairfield United Methodist Church and served as secretary of the church. Louise was an avid bowler, a well known AVON Lady, an indoor gardener with especially beautiful African Violets and enjoyed fabric painting and many craft activities. Her easy-going and gentle spirit will be greatly missed.A family memorial service will be held at the Fairfield United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 12, 2010 with her Pastor Annette Snedaker. Friends are cordially invited to attend a period of fellowship and sharing of memories at the Fairfield UMC on Saturday, June 12, from 1-4 PM. Memorials may be directed to her church c/o Mrs. Connie Fedorowicz, 150 Lower Fairfield rd., Newark Valley, NY 13811 in loving memory of Louise VanVorce .
